We’ve appointed James Hall, the former senior sous chef of The 3 Acres Inn to be our new head chef in a bid to offer a wider variety of freshly cooked food and cater to increasing visitor numbers.
James is a highly experienced chef having worked at a number of establishments across Yorkshire. He most recently spent seven years at The 3 Acres Inn where he helped the restaurant win numerous awards in various pub, restaurant and hotel guides including the Michelin guide 2011, AA and Which? Good Food Guide.
James will be heading up our kitchen team, which has recently moved into a new kitchen space, more than three times the size of the former area, located in the former milk bottling area of the farm. The new kitchen will allow us to offer a wider freshly cooked food offering including Eggs Benedict and Hereford Home-reared Beef Burgers.
We are keen to turn the farm into a visitor destination with the new expansion helping to cater for people visiting the coffee shop for food other than ice cream. Footfall to the farm has increased by 32% over the past year as it offers more and more services and events to customers throughout the year.
Speaking about the new head chef role, James says: “Joining Yummy Yorkshire gives me a fantastic opportunity to develop the business’ food offering with plenty of scope for innovation. The coffee shop is much loved by local residents and has attracted a loyal following over the years. I have already begun to put my stamp on the menus and look forward to working with the whole team to take Yummy Yorkshire forward.”
Jeremy, our co-founder adds: “I am thrilled to welcome James to the team. His extensive experience and culinary knowledge is impressive and we look forward to taking our food to new heights under his guidance.”
Our food menu is served between 9am and 4pm every day in the ice cream parlour and coffee shop.
