Then reward yourself with a heart warming selection of freshly cooked food from our tempting food menu or just an indulgent Hot Chocolate. For that special treat why not choose one our award winning ice cream flavours to round off the trip. Remember we are only closed on Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year’s Day!
This route revolves around Ingbirchworth Reservoir running next to the water’s edge and passing through small areas of woodland. The path is unsurfaced and can be muddy, there are stiles on the route so it is not suitable for prams but a walk along the embankment is still very pleasant (from point 1 to 4 on the map).
The walk is approximately 2 miles long.
Route: From the farm head down the road and turn right into Wellthorne Road. Pass the Fountain Inn on your right and head down the track in front at the bend in the road (Point 1). Follow the track as it drops down hill to a kissing gate in the reservoir boundary wall (Point 2). Turn right and follow the obvious path around the western end of the reservoir and over the boardwalk (Point 3). Continue along the path through the woods keeping the reservoir on your left to the squeeze stile in the wall (Point 4). Turn left and walk over the embankment along the path back to point 1.
