We are delighted to have been voted ‘Local Food Hero’ of the year in the 2014 Yorkshire Post deliciouslyorkshire Taste Awards.
We’ve been voted as the region’s top food producer in a public poll, beating over 50 other Yorkshire companies and securing 20pc of the overall votes.
Recently we were shortlisted in the annual food and drink awards scheme for our Chocolate and Amaretti Biscuit ice cream, which followed on from another prestigious win as the UK’s Best Independent Outlet at the 2014 ‘Grab & Go’ lunch business awards.
We launched a ‘cow-paign’ in September to help secure the number one spot in the public poll as the region’s ‘Local Food Hero’. We urged customers, friends and family to vote for us in the awards, which saw our mascot ‘Camilla the Cow’ run for ‘election’ in a series of posters and leaflets.
Our co-founder Jeremy said: “To be voted as Yorkshire’s Local Food Hero means a great deal to us. We’ve worked hard to build the Yummy Yorkshire brand in the seven years since we launched and this award is a huge pat on the back and testament to our hard work. We were over the moon to win and are incredibly grateful to everyone who voted for us – thank you!”
The winners of the Yorkshire Post deliciouslyorkshire Taste Awards were revealed on Wednesday 15 October at a glittering awards ceremony at the Pavilions of Harrogate. The awards celebrate the very best of Yorkshire’s food producers and innovators and were judged by a panel of industry experts including chefs, retailers, food writers and BBC radio personality, Nigel Barden.
